Welcome to Sawana Foundation, a compassionate non-profit organization founded by a group of dedicated graduate teachers in the Uva Province of Sri Lanka. Registered under the National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations, Ministry of Public Security, Sri Lanka, with registration number L-185804, our journey began with a heartfelt mission – to uplift the lives of children and individuals facing difficulties in the region. Fueled by a deep commitment to service, our founders initiated the foundation by using their own resources, particularly to support school children with essential needs.

As professionals, we've dedicated over a decade to closely supporting school children facing various difficulties and low-income challenges. Our work, driven by self-satisfaction, has aimed at providing essential support and encouragement for their educational needs. Witnessing the happiness of these children has fueled our commitment even further. Beyond addressing their physical needs, we've strived to elevate their mental well-being and foster positive attitudes. It brings us great joy to share that with many children, once on the verge of dropping out, have not only stayed in school but have gone on to become university graduates and valuable professionals contributing to our country.

As our efforts expanded to address the broader challenges faced by low-income families, Sawana Foundation evolved into a beacon of hope, providing physical, financial, and mental support to those in distress. Despite facing economic challenges in our country, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to fostering equal educational opportunities, supporting every child's educational journey, addressing nutritional needs, and empowering creativity.
